‘Stop linking us to the content creator Ekpa’, IPOB group warns Nigerian media
Outlawed Igbo separatist group, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has warned the Nigerian media to stop linking the group with the embattled self-styled Prime Minister of Biafra Republic Government in Exile (BRGIE), Simon Ekpa, who the group described as a content creator.
IPOB, in a statement issued on Tuesday by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, stated that the group has nothing to do with Ekpa who was arrested in Finland two weeks ago on terror-related activities.
Powerful frowned at some media outfits often linking Ekpa with IPOB, stating categorically that the Finland-based Ekpa who is the founder of a splinter group known as IPOB-AutoPilot, is not a member of the Nnamdi Kanu-led Biafra agitators.

“The noble family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) led by Mazi Nnamdi Okwu Kanu admonished some misguided and uninform media houses for tagging a self professed content creator in Finland to the great IPOB worldwide,” Powerful said in the statement.
“A person that declared himself as Biafra Prime Minister of a Finland based phantom Biafra Government in Exile is sufficient to address the criminal and the minds of journalists to the constituency which he represents.
“The phantom Biafra Government in Exile is not part of the IPOB nomenclature and persistent association of these content creators to the legitimate aspirations of Biafrans championed by the great IPOB worldwide should not be muddled up to serve a dangerous intent of tarnishing the impeccable image of IPOB.
‘Media houses are enjoined to stop referencing content creators to IPOB with the content creator in Finland prison.
“If the media houses continue joining the content creator to the great family of IPOB led by Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu Kanu, we are going to refer them as those who were fighting to destroy peaceful IPOB and Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
“IPOB is not part of them and Nigerian media and bloggers should stop linking to IPOB. They have declared their freedom and independence, mentioned their created states; what remains now will be telling the public their seats of powers in Biafraland.
“IPOB remains what they were from the beginning and will not shift ground until Biafra Independence is fully announced by the United Nations.”
