The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu has called on President Muhammadu to intervene in the intimidation of members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Edo State by security operatives.

The call is coming on heels of the alleged arbitrary arrest of PDP members ahead the governorship election on Saturday September 10.

Ekweremadu, made this call on Wednesday in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Mr Uche Anichukwu, urging President Buhari to immediately intervene in the alleged intimidation and ensure a free, fair and credible electoral process.

The PDP in Edo State had accused the Nigeria Police of “unwarranted arrests and harassment” of its members and supporters.
