Stranded’ Enyimba to arrive Nigeria on Saturday

Players and officials of the victorious Enyimba Football Club of

Aba are expected to arrive in Nigeria on Saturday after several days of
being stranded in Tunisia.
The team which defeated Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia 4-3 on
penalties on Wednesday to qualify for the group stage of the money spinning
CAF Champions League were stranded in Tunisia due to flight delay by
Maroc Air.

But officials of the club informed Ripples Nigeria that the
team’s flight initially billed for Thursday, has be rescheduled for Saturday
as they are expected to be in the country soon.
It would be recalled that Hamza Lahmar scored with three
minutes left in
the first half through a free –kick, and Diego Acosta hit a brace in
the 61st and 71st minutes to cancel out Enyimba’s first leg
advantage.
Enyimba’s Mfon Udoh, who scored all of People’s Elephants’ goals
in the first leg in Port Harcourt, and forward Christian Pyagbara missed
the Nigerians’ first two kicks in the shoot –out, stacking the odds
against the 2003 and 2004 winners.
But goalkeeper Theophilus Afelokhai turned hero after he saved
three successive kicks in the shoot –out to see Enyimba FC through to
the group stage.
