Suge Knight refuses to appear in Court over terror threat

Published

It seems that the troubles plaguing rap mogul Marion “Suge” Knight is far from being reduced as he refused to leave his prison cell to attend a court hearing on robbery charges on Wednesday, saying he was ill.

But then, the judge is hearing none of it and vowed to have him forcibly brought to court if he did so again, and postponed the hearing until Friday.

Knight, the co-founder of influential hip hop label Death Row Records, is charged with robbery and making a terroristic threat in connection with the September theft of a camera in Beverly Hills. He has pleaded not guilty.

He is also charged in a separate case with murder and attempted murder stemming from a hit-and-run in Los Angeles. The music mogul is accused of deliberately running over two men with his pickup truck, following an argument on set. One of them later died.

According to court documents, Knight already has previous convictions of deadly assault with a weapon in 1999. So, if he is convicted in the hit-and-run case, he faces up to 25 years to life in prison.
