Suicide bomber kills 7 in Yemen

In a failed assassination attempt, a suicide bomber rammed his car into the house of a police chief in the southern Yemeni city of Aden killing seven civilians including security forces in the process.

The attack occurred after armed militants killed two other security officials elsewhere in the country as ambulances raced to the police chief’s house after the explosion, which could be heard across the city according to reports.

Sources say the suicide car bomber was stopped metres away from the police chief’s house by an armoured vehicle before the explosion which ripped through a bus passing by killing seven and injuring 12.
