Super Eagles battle Atletico Madrid today!

The Super Eagles team B of Nigeria will play a friendly game with Spanish La Liga giants Atletico Madrid today (Tuesday) at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

The Europa League winners have already arrived the country, with players like Fernando Torres, Gabi, Kevin Gameiro et al among the team that will face the Nigerian national side.

Atletico’s arrival was confirmed in a 12 seconds video published on LaLiga’s verified Twitter handle on Monday, in which fans were captured cheering the players on arrival.

The Eagles Team B, led by head coach Yusuf Salisu, put finishing touches to their preparations ahead of the game on Monday.

The team, comprised of more home-based players, had Chidiebere and Kelechi Nwakali, Norway-based Ahmed Usman as well as Katsina United’s Destiny Ashade in their training at the Uyo Stadium.

Olufemi Kayode (Lobi Stars), Olorunleke Ojo (Akwa United), Olufemi Thomas (Rangers International), Musa Muhammed (Lokomotiv Plovdiv), Stanley Okorom (MFM FC), Ebube Duru (Lobi Stars), Dayo Ojo (Sunshine Stars), Emem Eduok (Kasimpasa FC, Turkey), Tosin Omoyele (Plateau United), Kadiri Samadi (Lobi Stars), Ibrahim Alhassan (Kano Pillars) are some of the other players in camp.

The friendly game, tagged GOtv Max Cup and put together by MultiChoice Nigeria, will kick off by 6:00p.m in Uyo.
