Super Eagles draw Argentina, Croatia, Iceland for 2018 World Cup

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been drawn in Group D of the FIFA 2018 World Cup alongside Argentina, Croatia and Iceland.

The draw was done at a ceremony that took place at the State Kremlin Palace in Moscow on Friday.

This will be the fifth time the Nigerian team will be facing two-time World Cup winners, Argentina at the global showpiece.

It is also worthy of note that Nigeria’s other group opponent, Iceland, are participating at the World Cup for the very first time.

Tunisia were drawn in Group G alongside England, Panama and Belgium.

Egypt were drawn in Group A alongside hosts Russia, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay.

Senegal will play against Colombia, Poland and Japan; while the other African represntatives, Morocco were drawn with Iran Portugal and Spain.

The World Cup draw in full:

Group A: Russia, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Uruguay
Group B: Portugal, Spain, Morocco, Iran
Group C: France, Australia, Peru, Denmark
Group D: Argentina, Iceland, Croatia, Nigeria
Group E: Brazil, Switzerland, Costa Rica, Serbia
Group F: Germany, Sweden, Mexico, South Korea
Group G: Belgium, Panama, Tunisia, England
Group H: Poland, Senegal, Colombia, Japan

Hosts Russia will play Saudi Arabia in the opening game of the tournament on June 14, 2018 in Moscow.

And the World Cup is scheduled to take place between June 14 to July 15.

    That group is not a group of death at all, Nigeria will qualify from that group, we should just pray that our key players are in good shape without injuries…

    Luck on Nigeria, at least we get out from the group stage and if possible get to quarter final. But why Argentina all the time in group stage? I hope we defeat them this time around because defeating them in a friendly match makes no sense
