Super Eagles of Nigeria were held to a goalless draw by Rwanda in the matchday two fixture of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Ademola Lookman thought he had broken the deadlock for Nigeria but the centre referee made a controversial call as the effort was ruled out for offside.

Interim Super Eagles coach, Austin Eguavoen, made just one change in his starting 11 with Fisayo Dele-Bashiru coming in for Alex Iwobi.

Despite the draw, Nigeria soar to the top of their AFCON qualifiers group with four points.

The Super Eagles had won their opening match of the qualifying series with a 3-0 thrashing of Benin Republic at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium last Saturday in Uyo.

Next up for Super Eagles in AFCON Qualifiers is the double-header against Libya in mid-October.
