Super Eagles open camp ahead Libya clash, to begin training Tuesday

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have opened camping ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Libya, and are set to begin training on Tuesday.

This much was revealed via the Twitter handle of the national team, which also stated that the training sessions of Wednesday and Thursday will be open to the public.

“Ahead #2019AFCONQ vs Libya. Media Alert! “Camp opens at Ibom Hotel on Monday, October. 8, 2018. Training sessions on Tuesday, October. 9 and Wednesday, October. 10 are open. Training sessions on Thurs. & Fri. Oct 11 & 12 are closed, although 15 minutes filming will be allowed on Friday,” the Tweet stated.

The Gernot Rohr’s men kicked off their 2019 AFCON qualifying campaign with a disappointing 2-0 loss at home to South Africa, before reviving their hopes of reaching the Cameroon tournament with a 3-0 win over Seychelles.

They face Libya in a double-header clash this Saturday in Uyo, Akwa Ibom and the reverse fixture at the Stade Taieb Mhiri in the city of Sfax, Tunisia next Tuesday.

Libya top the Group E on four points with a superior goal difference to South Africa after two rounds of games. Nigeria are in the third position on three points ahead of Seychelles who are without a point.
