Super Eagles retain position on FIFA rankings

The Super Eagles of Nigeria retained the 52nd position in the monthly FIFA World rankings released on the body’s official website on Thursday.

The team also maintained their seventh position on the continent, as Tunisia leads the pack, followed by Senegal, Congo DR, Morocco, Egypt and Cameroon in that order.

The Eagles will face Poland and Serbia this month in friendly games designed to prepare the them ahead of the 2018 World Cup.

While Poland, who host Nigeria on March 23rd, climbed one spot to become joint-sixth with Spain in the rankings; Serbia who play Nigeria four days after, reained their 34th position.

The Eagles have been drawn in World Cup Group D alongside Argentina, Iceland and Crotia.

The South American giants stayed put on fourth spot, as Croatia and Iceland remained 15th and 18th respectively.

The next rankings will be published on April 12, 2018.
