Super Falcons become 38th best team in world, stay first in Africa

The Super Falcons of Nigeria have climbed one place in the FIFA women’s world rankings to become the 38th best team in the world.

This was revealed in the latest women’s football world ranking released on Fifa’s official website on Friday.

In Africa, the Nigerian ladies retained their first position as the best team on the continent.

In second place are the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon, who dropped two spots from 49th to 51st in the world, followed by third-placed Banyana Banyana of South Africa who are 53rd in the world.

World champions, USA, who also lifted the SheBelieves Cup on home soil, remain unmoved at the summit of the ranking.

Germany, after impressing at the Algarve Cup gaining 12 Ranking points – more than any other top-10 team in this edition, stay second.

The global order also welcomed its newest addition, with Gambia (113th) increasing the number of teams ranked to 159 – the second-highest number on record.

The next FIFA/Coca-Cola Women’s World Ranking will be published on June 26, 2020.
