Super Falcons draw Benin, Senegal, Mali In WAFU Cup

Falcons to face Gambia in 2018 AWCON qualifiers

Nigeria’s Super Falcons have been drawn in Group B alongside Benin Republic, Senegal and Mali in the group stages of the maiden edition of the Women’s WAFU Cup of Nations.

The tournament will be hosted in Cote d’Ivoire from 14 February to 24 February, 2018.

While African champions Super Falcons in Pool B alongside Benin Republic, Senegal and Togo, hosts Cote d’Ivoire are in Pool A with Niger, Burkina Faso and Ghana.

Cote d’Ivoire and Ghana will play the opening match on 14 February in Abidjan, as two teams from each group in the preliminary stage will qualify for the knockout stage of the competition.

The Falcons are yet without a coach and are expected to use the competition to prepare for the 2018 African Women’s Cup of Nations qualifiers scheduled for May 2018.
