Super Falcons retain position on FIFA rankings

Falcons to face Gambia in 2018 AWCON qualifiers

Nigeria women’s football team, Super Falcons retained their position in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola women’s world ranking released on Saturday.

The Thomas Dennerby side occupy the same 38th spot same as they did in the rankings published in June, with 1607 points.

The last time the team played a game was in June – during their 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations qualifying match against the Gambia, which they won 7-0 on aggregate.

The reigning African champions also retained their spot as the best women’s side in the continent, followed by Ghana, Cameroon, South Africa, and Equatorial Guinea.

In the world, USA are the top team, followed by Germany, England, France, and Canada.

Australia are on sixth position, while Japan, Brazil, Sweden, and the Netherlands make up the number in the top ten.

The next Fifa rankings for women’s football will be released on December 7.
