Supreme Court declares Ezeokenwa as APGA chairman
The Supreme Court on Wednesday declared Sylvester Ezeokenwa as the national chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
The apex court delivered the judgement in an appeal filed by a factional leader of the party, Edozie Njoku.
Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court, Abuja, had last week restrained Njoku from parading himself as the APGA national chairman.
Omotosho, who delivered the judgment in a suit filed by APGA and Ezeokenwa, held that there was no valid court judgment that recognized Njoku as the party’s national chairman.

He held that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) erred by recognising the Njoku-led leadership of the party.
Dissatisfied with the verdict, Njoku approached the Supreme Court to set it aside.
At Wednesday’s proceeding, the apex court dismissed the appeal for being frivolous.
It also awarded a N20 million fine against Njoku for filing a frivolous suit at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court, Bwari.
