After Supreme Court loss, Sheriff vows to go after corrupt PDP members

After meeting with Osinbajo, Oyegun, speculations rife Sheriff may dump PDP

Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senator Ali Modu Sheriff has to bring all corrupt politicians in Nigeria to book, including PDP members.

According to him, “Never again will corrupt politicians use the platform of our major political institutions to stardom. The party is for all and no one’s enterprise as government is conceived as an administrative state where dishonest politicians bask in democratic corruption,”

Sheriff made the vow in a statement on Tuesday by his spokesperson, Honourable Bernard Mikko.

Sheriff was only recently sacked as national chairman of the party by the Supreme Court, which affirmed the National Caretaker Committee led by Sen Ahmed Makarfi as the authentic leadership group of the party.

Sheriff who pledged to address a world press conference to point the way forward for his supporters ‘nationwide, also affirmed that he would take the necessary action after fully studying the Supreme Court judgement.

He stated that “We will collaborate with global anti-corruption networks to bring all corrupt politicians in Nigeria to book, including PDP members having criminal cases bordering on dishonesty and malfeasance”.

On why he and his supporters were conspicuously absent at the expanded caucus meeting of the party held at the PDP secretariat on Monday night, the former chairman of the party, said he was mornin the country.

The meeting attracted prominent members of the party including the immediate past President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, past and serving state governors, past and current members of the National Assembly as well as the women wings of the party.

Sheriff also noted that he got no invitation to the event.

The statement read, “Senator Modu Sheriff was neither in the country nor invited to the assemblage at Wadata Plaza yesterday evening. However, he will address a world press conference to throw light on the way forward after we have received and studied the full judgment of the Supreme Court and analyzed its import on our democracy.

“We therefore appeal to all our loyal supporters nationwide not to defect as we are still committed to bringing the party back to the grassroots. We assure them that we will not only give them a voice, but they will also be heard.

    Idiot, who will watch or listen to your world press conference? You better go bow before Makarfi, and mind you, if the world anti graft should come to fore, you as well will be arrested because you are not pure

    Another Jibrin in the making… Jibrin that kicked against his fellow senators and acused them of corruption, where is he now? Sheriff should trade carefully, else the politicians he wants to expose will keep him shut!

      Since he has refused to learn from the great whistle blower, he’ll be thought direct lesson. I really don’t understand why he cannot simply accept defeat and move on with his life peacefully

    Apparently, this man is still very angry he lost to his rival, Makarfi. With time I’m sure he will get over it, there’s nothing he can do to over rule Supreme Court’s judgement.

    The only thing I just like about makarfi, the authentic pdp chairman is that he was resilient and never gave up which eventually landed him the victory but all same, he is just a chairman of a dead political party
