At least six suspected members of a gang that kidnapped the wife of the Central Bank Governor, Margaret Emefiele, about four days ago have been arrested by policemen from the Federal Capital Territory.
One of the suspects was arrested shortly after the victims were released and his arrest has led to the capture of six other members of his gang.

According to reports, the suspects were apprehended by operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Special Monitoring and Intelligence Team, led by CSP Abba Kyari at their hideout in Edo State over the weekend.
The suspects are now being held at the state command headquarters, Benin, bringing the number of suspects arrested in connection with the kidnapping of Mrs. Emefiele’s to seven.

Following a directive by the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, that the criminals be apprehended, the crack team of policemen relocated to Edo State from Abuja to rescue the victims, which included a driver and three women who were kidnapped along the Benin-Agbor Road.
The victims were later released early Saturday morning after they were kidnapped on Thursday following pressures from the police, army and Department of State Services, but not after the abductors demanded N100 million ransom.
