Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen reportedly killed 11 people in some communities of Nyiev-ya, Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State on Wednesday.

A resident of the community told journalists on Thursday the attackers struck when the people were celebrating Christmas with their families.

He added that the herdsmen killed people and burnt houses in Tse Azege, Ityuluv, and Nyiev-ya communities in the area.

However, the state police command has not confirmed the incident.
