Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen have shot a popular pastor, Bayo Famonure, his wife and two children in Gana-Ropp, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Pastor Famonure, who is the founder of a missionary outfit, Calvary Ministries (CAPRO), was shot alongside his family in the early hours of Wednesday by the hoodlums in his residence.

According to a source close to the family, the pastor and his family had been rushed to hospital for treatment.

The source said: “Bayo, his wife and two children were shot by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen. Bayo was shot in the foot, his wife in her back and their children in the legs.

“But they are lucky to be alive after the attack.”

Confirming the incidence, the spokesman of the Plateau State Police Command, ASP Ubah Gabriel, said the command had beefed up security in the community, adding that they were on the trail of those behind the attack.
