Suspected kidnapper nabbed for abducting 12-yr-old girl
An early Saturday morning raid at a hotel located at Mowe, Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area by men of the Ogun State Police Command, following a tip-off, saw the arrest of a suspected kidnapper identified as Odele Tosin, who allegedly masterminded the kidnap of a 12-year-old girl, Eniola Oyekanmi.
According to reports, the victim, Eniola who was kidnapped by a gang led by Tosin last Friday at the Orimerunmu area of Ketu in Lagos State, was rescued at the hotel following the raid at the hotel located at Mowe.
Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi revealed that the victim was kidnapped while she was running errands for her parents and was taken to the hotel, while the gang contacted her parents demanding ransom.
“She was taken to a hotel in Mowe where the kidnappers kept her and started demanding a ransom. They ran out of luck when the anti-robbery team from Mowe Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer, Francis Ebohuwa, got a tip-off and stormed the hotel. One of the suspects was arrested while others escaped. The victim was rescued unhurt.” Oyeyemi said.
According to Oyeyemi, a man hunt is underway to fish out the rest of the gang members who escaped while the arrested suspect has been transferred to the Anti-kidnapping Unit of the command headquarters at Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation and interrogation.
