SWEDEN: 60-yr-old man dies, 1 other injured in 'hand grenade' blast

Tragedy struck in the Varby gard station in Huddinge, a southern suburb in the city Stockholm, Sweden when a 60-year-old man died after picking up an object which exploded in his face.

According to Swedish police which do not believe that the attack is terror related, a 45-year-old woman was also injured in the explosion which occurred outside the underground station.

The device which caused the explosion according to Swedish newspapers Expressen and Aftonbladet was a hand grenade.

Swedish police say there was no indication the couple were targeted, even as they revealed that the man died later in hospital while the woman who suffered injuries to her face was responding to treatment.
