T-Pain is just ‘Temporary Pain’, Tinubu is doing exceedingly well —Okupe
Former presidential spokesman under ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Doyin Okupe, has told Nigerians to endure the temporary pain they are going through as a result of the policies of President Bola Tinubu as they will lead to extensive prosperity very soon.
Okupe who was a former Director General for the candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, in the 2023 presidential election, made the assertion while appearing on a Channels Television programme on Monday night, insisting that Tinubu was doing exceedingly well and on the right track to make Nigeria great again.
Okupe who however acknowledged that Nigerians were undergoing hardship, said the ‘T-Pain’ nickname given to Tinubu on social media by aggrieved Nigerians means “temporary pain that would lead to an extensive, pleasant and something good for the nation”.
“Tinubu is doing exceedingly well and he’s going to do much much better. Bola Tinubu needs understanding, not undermining,” Okupe said.
“If we do not go through this tough time, the country would have collapsed. Just 17 months, how much can he do?
“I am more than convinced that if this gentleman is given understanding, he would do better. Bola Tinubu will fix this nation. Take that to the bank.”
Speaking on the 2027 presidential election, Okupe predicted that Tinubu will still win because before then, he would have performed better than his predecessor, former President Muhammadu Buhari, who did not do well but was in office for eight years.
“Nigerians will decide so. I am sure. Nigerians are reasonable, sensible people, not demanding too much from their leaders.
“If Bola Tinubu gives us light in 2027, if Bola Tinubu resolves this fuel crisis and this food crisis between now and that time, you’ll see that people will go on the streets and say it’s Bola or nobody,” Okupe said.
