President of Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, has told the Super Eagles that the key to defeating Zambia on Saturday is to take full control of the game from the beginning.

Nigeria are on the verge of sealing their qualification for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, needing a win over the Chipolopolo in a matchday 5 encounter at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium this weekend.

The Football chieftain admitted that it is normal for teams to get tensed ahead of such a crucial match, but advised the Eagles to take every chance that comes their way.

“The tendency is for teams to get uptight and tensed for this kind of match,”Pinnick told NFF website.

“I have spoken to them and the approach should be to take full control from the beginning and take the chances that come without being too anxious.

“We defeated the African champions, Cameroon, by maintaining focus and with the team imposing its game and taking the chances that came their way. That should be the approach for Saturday.”

Zambia, who lost at home to Nigeria on Matchday 1 last year, last tasted victory against Nigeria in a competitive football match at senior level 32 years ago.

Meanwhile, Akwa Ibom state has slashed the price of the tickets for fans by 50%. Spectators will now pay N1000 (for cover stand) and N500 (for popular stand) to watch the match live in Uyo.
