Taraba Assembly Speaker resigns

The Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Peter Diah, has resigned from his position following the crisis rocking the House.

He confirmed the move to newsmen on Sunday, citing ‘personal reasons’ for his action.

The lawmaker representing Mbamga constituency was elected in 2015 for the fifth time and is the longest-serving legislator in the house.

He was elected 8th speaker Taraba State House of Assembly following the inauguration of the Eighth Assembly in June 2015.
