#NigeriaDecides: Who gets dumped at the governorship election?

The Taraba State government Monday rejected 100 students of Islamic studies (Almajiris) repatriated from Nasarawa State.

The state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Innocent Vakai, who disclosed this to journalists in Jalingo, accused the Nasarawa State government of flouting the Northern Governors’ Forum (NGF) agreement on the matter.

The governors had resolved that repatriated almajiris must undergo tests to determine their COVID-19 status.

In addition, the students must be accompanied by officials from their state of repatriation and the results of their tests presented to their state of origin.

Vakai, who is also Chairman of the state Technical Committee on COVID-19, added that proper documentation must be made by the Nasarawa government for the almajiris to be accepted in Taraba.
