Taraba LG announces restriction of motorcycles to curb kidnapping, robbery
Following a series of kidnapping in Taraba state, the caretaker chairman of Takum Local Government Area, Shiban Tikari, on Saturday, issued a rule stating the restriction of motorcycles in the area to curb kidnapping and armed robbery.
This came in after five suspected kidnappers and four cattle rustlers wreaking havoc in the state were arrested by the police command on Friday.
Shiban who spoke at a press conference in Jalingo, lamented over the increasing number of kidnapped victims who had been killed despite giving out a ransom to their captors.

The council chairman also applauded the Benue and Taraba state government for their efforts to end crimes on the border between the two states.
He said, “I want to appeal to all patriotic and peace-loving people of Takum LGA, including those from the neighbouring communities where these crimes are taking place to be more vigilant and help us and the security agencies with intelligence to check the menace.
“Security is our collective responsibility and it is high time we all stood up and took positive steps towards tackling the security challenges facing our dear LGA.
“All perpetrators of these criminal acts are hereby advised to repent and desist from their criminal acts as the arm of the law will catch up with them.”
