Team Nigeria storm Beijing Tuesday

The Athletic Federation of Nigeria has said Nigeria athletes that will be representing the country at the IAAF World Championship in Beijing, China will be departing Nigeria on Tuesday afternoon aboard Ethiopia Airline.
The AFN released a list of 17 athletes that would be representing the country and assured that the athletes that made the trip were all capable of winning medals.
Secretary of the federation, Olumide Bamiduro, said they (AFN) can only find seats aboard the Ethiopia Airline since all the seats on Emirate Airline were already booked.

“We want the athletes to get there on time so that they can acclimatise,” he said.
“We have said it countless time that we are not going to China for sight-seeing or jamboree but to make Nigeria proud.
“All the athletes going are potential champions and i can assure you that we will not be coming back empty handed.”
The IAAF World Championships is scheduled to host between August 22 and 30 with the Congress and IAAF/IOC meeting on August 19 and 20, where new officials of the IAAF will be elected.
