Again 'technically defeated' Boko Haram kills 2 soldiers, lose 15
Boko Haram insurgents, who have been branded technically defeated by the Nigerian government and Army, have killed two Nigerian soldiers and lost 15 of its members.

The Army stated this on Thursday, disclosing that the incident happened when its troops engage the terrorists group in a fierce battle in Abadam village, Borno State.

Col. Sani Usman, acting Director Army Public Relations, said in a statement issued in Abuja that Boko Haram launched attack on troops of Operation Lafiya Dole and Multinational Task Force at about 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, which lasted for two hours.

According to him, ‘many’ of the acclaimed technically defeated insurgents escaped with gunshot wound while four soldiers also sustained injuries.

“The bodies of our late colleagues and the wounded have since been evacuated. The troops have continued mop up and clearance operations of the remnants of the terrorists. They have also intensified vigilance and high level of alertness,” Usman said.

He listed items recovered from the insurgents to include a gun truck, one 60mm Mortar tube, seven 60mm mortar bomb, a General Purpose Machine (GPMG), three damaged AK 47 Rifle and four bandoliers of anti-aircraft rounds of ammunition.
