Teenage suicide bomber kills dozens in Adamawa

A blast at a mosque in Mubi, on Tuesday, during the early Morning Prayer has left over 50 dead.

The Public Relations Officer, SP Othman Abubakar of the Adamawa Police Command on Tuesday, confirmed the figure.

Abubakar said that a young boy who stormed the mosque carried out the bombing.

“We have 50 dead and we are now trying to get the exact number of those injured”.

The incident, which happened in Dazala area of Mubi town in Adamawa, is the first in three years, since the liberation of the town by the Nigerian Army, from the hands of Boko Haram insurgency in 2014.

Although, no confirmation has been made by Boko haram, but Mr Idris Garga, North East Coordinator, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), said that suspected Boko Haram suicide bombers carried out the attack, owing to the series of attacks carried out within that region by the group.
