A teenage identified simply as Kofo was on Saturday shot dead as Oyo State held its local government areas elections.

The death of the teenager, who was shot dead by a stray bullet at Idi Oro area of Queens Cinema in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, happened few hours after commencement of the local government elections.

It was learnt that residents in the area had called the attention of personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) when some thugs were making trouble in the area.

A stray bullet from NSCDC personnel, who stormed the area to quell the crisis, was said to have hit the teenage girl who was said to have gone to a pharmaceutical shop to buy some drugs.

Meanwhile, security personnel on Saturday averted what would have led to another show of shame as recorded during the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primaries in Ekiti State last Saturday.

This was as men of the Nigerian Police arrested at the gate of the venue of the rescheduled Ekiti APC primary, some hoodlums who attempted to force themselves into the venue.
