Tension in A’Ibom community over compensation

Published

on

Ukpum-Ette clan youths in Ikot Abasi Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State have attacked one Mr. Sylvester Enin, a consultant to National Integrated Power Project, accusing him of plotting with others to deny them compensation from the power project.

The PUNCH learnt on Tuesday that the angry youths stormed the residence of Enin in Essien Etuk Village threatening to burn down the place, but for the intervention of some elders.

They accused Enin and some community leaders of masterminding the removal of their family names from the NIPP list of donors of land for the 330KVA transmission line in Ikot-Ekpene-Ikot-Abasi route (Lot 18).
