Tension in NASENI over CEO’s tenure renewal

Published

on

There is tension at the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure [NASENI] as the tenure of the head of the agency, Prof Mohammed Sani Haruna has ended, while awaiting possible extension.

Delay in approval of a second and final term of five years for Prof Haruna has caused unease at the agency and the Ministry of Science and Technology, Daily Trust gathered.

Move to renew the appointment of Haruna began on January 25, when he wrote a letter to the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, asking for his appointment to be renewed for another five year term.

Daily Trust however gathered last night that the Presidency has renewed Haruna’s appointment but yet to announce the decision.
