High tension has enveloped the political space of Nasarawa State over the inability of INEC to announce the official results of both presidential and national assembly results more than 24 hours after election.

LEADERSHIP observed that results from the three senatorial zones of the state were held hostage by politicians for the reasons best known to them.

So far INEC had announced results of 6 out of the 13 electoral wards in Lafia LG council for both presidential and national assembly elections. Those electoral wards whose results were released include Arikya, Shabu, Wakwa, Zanwa, Akurba, Adogi and Agyaragu.

In Doma, it was gathered that the results and INEC ad-hoc staff, were held hostage by both APC and PDP, since yesterday morning at the local government secretariat In Akwanga zone, results from Akwanga were collated giving PDP early lead, while results from Nasarawa Eggon and Wamba, were also held hostage by politicians.
