Terror unleashed as cattle rustlers kill 6, steal 700 cows in Niger

The Kukoki community of Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State came under attack by men suspected to be cattle rustlers who unleashed terror killing six people and stealing 700 cows.

The attack by the cattle rustlers according to the council’s chairman, Mark Jagaba lasted about four hours.

He also revealed that at least four Fulani and two Gbagyi were killed while several women and children were injured following the attack.

About 50 armed cattle rustlers stormed the community according to Jagaba shooting sporadically, killing six people in the process and stealing 700 cows and an undisclosed number of goats and sheep before fleeing the scene of the incident.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Niger State, Bala Elkana who confirmed the incident also informed that two suspects have been arrested in connection with the attack.

He noted that a manhunt has been launched to apprehend the other suspects much so as security has been beefed up within and around the affected community.
