THAILAND: Swiss man arraigned for allegedly molesting 80 boys

An unnamed Swiss man has been charged to court by authorities in Thailand for allegedly molesting 80 boys- some as young as nine years old.

The man who admits to taking thousands of pornographic pictures of boys but denies other charges, including molestation was traced to Switzerland by Thai authorities.

According to Swiss prosecutors in the western canton of Fribourg, the man also allegedly molested some of them and pushed some into prostitution.

The man who had previously been convicted of sexually abusing children in Switzerland: in Fribourg in 1980, and in the southern canton of Valais in 1991 allegedly abused the minors in 2001.

According to reports, he had moved to Thailand that same year, and only returned to Switzerland in 2014.

Prosecutors also informed that the man will appear before the Gruyere criminal court later in March on charges of human trafficking, encouraging prostitution, sexual acts with children and child pornography.
