President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that because of Nigeria’s new-found respect in the international community owing to the success of his administration’s anti-graft war, “a number of world leaders are expressing the desire to visit Nigeria virtually on monthly basis.”

He spoke Thursday at the presentation of the book titled, Making Steady, Sustainable Progressive for Nigeria’s Peace and Prosperity: A mid-term scorecard on the President Muhammadu Buhari Administration.

The book is authored by Femi Adesina, Garba Shehu and Laolu Akande, spokesmen of the president and vice-president.

“Internationally, Nigeria is now a respected nation. I can’t keep up with invitations to visit other countries much less for other countries leaders that want to visit us,” he said.

“A number of world leaders are expressing the desire to visit Nigeria virtually on monthly basis.”

Buhari also said “we are all aware now that if you steal public funds and you are caught, you will face the law”.

The president revealed that after exiting recession, government put in place measures to ease the economic hardship, while reassuring Nigerians of his commitment to improve security, fight corruption and restructure the economy.

“We have gone through difficult times due to worldwide economic recession. We are coming out of recession and government efforts are targeted at easing economic hardships with more jobs, social security platforms for vulnerable families, and unemployed and infrastructural progress,” he said.

Buhari also spoke about the remaining Chibok girls still in captivity, and the general challenge of insecurity in the country.

“During the year it was my great pleasure to secure the release of 102 Chibok school girls. We are doing our best quietly and effectively as possible to get the rest released.

“We are working day and night with our international partners to release the remaining girls as soon as possible, as well as women and children still on captivity.”

“On the current issues on herdsmen/farmers clashes, kidnapping and armed robberies within the confines of our limited resources, we are giving top priority to security,” he said.

I’m honestly sad for this government, the anti-graft war Buhari is shouting about, how many people have been prosecuted through it?

“if you steal public funds and you are caught, you will face the law,” what about those who stole in previous administration and decamped to APC and those stealing in your government, Mr President, have they faced the law? How many of them are in prison now? The anti-graft war is a strategy to witch-hunt opposition parties so as to secure another tenure in office

You really don’t have to like Buhari’s government, but at least speak the truth about the government’s operations. The anti-graft war has gone a long way in preventing stealing of public funds and this is why Nigeria’s trust is increasing in the international scene

This is a plus on Buhari’s government and Nigerians will surely remember it for good. The anti-graft war should keep going, I’m sure anyone who’s still stealing public funds will be caught and face the law.
