Thanks, but no, thanks, ambassadorial nominee tells Buhari

An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, and former Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Pauline Tallen, has turned down the ambassadorial nomination by President Muhammadu Buhari.

She was one of the 46 non-career ambassadorial nominees who the President sent to the Senate for confirmation last week.

Tallen who is a member of APC Board of Trustees, had in a statement made available to newsmen on Sunday, gave the ill health of her husband as the reason she could not accept the offer as she  needs time to take care of her ailing husband.

Part of the statement reads, “I appreciated President Muhammadu Buhari for counting me worthy to serve Nigeria in the capacity of an ambassador. However, I have to let it go to attend to my ailing husband. It is a hard decision to take, but I have to, because my husband is my primary responsibility as a woman.”
