‘The hard work continues’ – Troost-Ekong thrilled by Udinese contract extension

Super Eagles defender, Williams Troost-Ekong has expressed his excitement after being handed a contract extension by his club, Udinese of Italy.

The 26-year-old, who linked up with the club last summer from Turkish side Bursaspor penning a four-year contract, on Wednesday signed a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2023.

He made 35 Serie A appearances for Udinese last season, helping the club to a respectable 12th position.

“Very happy with my renewal. Thanks to Udinese for the confidence, the hard work continues,”Troost-Ekong tweeted.

The defender who was born in the Netherlands to a Nigerian father, and Dutch mother, has made nine league appearances so far for the club this season.

At the international scene, he has won 38 caps with Nigeria and scored two goals for the Super Eagles.
