The Senator who cried wolf

By Joseph Edgar….

For a hardened follower of Dino Malaye, this is one prank too much. The childishness of the whole escapade rankles me leading to a sigh in exasperation.

Melaye is trying by this peadophilistic episode to reduce the magnitude of the political movements that happened last week. His erratic attempts at moving the spot light away from the very serious issues that pervades the polity with his growing almost daily antics must be decried.

If he is not releasing short videos where he is ridiculing his positions on social media, he is carrying out various antics all culminating to this very ridiculous and irritating episode where he has claimed that he was kidnapped and kept in the wilderness for 11 hours.

Apparently, he was due to appear in court in Lokoja and this ‘’kidnap’’ conveniently happened in the nick of time. Just when he had begun to garner pubic understanding with the destruction of his constituency projects he pulls this stunt which further muddies his image.

Yes, we have come to expect that this is not a normal Senator but to what limits are we expected to continue to understand and support. If you ask me, I would say that he is becoming more of a liability to his grouping than an asset. He comes across as flippant, unpredictable and a loose cannon. This cannot be perfect for a strategic movement. He could at best provide that weak link that could derail a perfectly hatched plot.

He has his uses though, his seeming boldness, courage and eagerness to arrowhead the opposition and the fact that his recall failed even while in detention shows that he has some level of political capital but buying all these at a risky political premium is something I just may not subscribe to.

Dino is not the issue, he is the irritant and mark my words, the avenue that would be exploited by the other camp as they begin the demystification of the opposition. He should be reined in and muted, only released for assignments with minimal intellectual needs for there lies his strength.

This was one cry too much. Melaye in my estimation is now a confirmed political nuisance.
