Thousands of hungry Venezuelans cross into Colombian border to get food
Thousands of hungry Venezuelans are reported to have crossed into Colombia to get food days after the border opened briefly for the first time in nearly a year.
The director of the Colombian border authority, Victor Bautista, informed that an estimated number of 35,000 Venezuelans made the short trip past the border to buy food items.
The border was closed in August 2015, by Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro citing smuggling and penetration by Colombian fighters.
The President however ordered a 12-hour opening of the pedestrian bridge that connects Tachira, in Venezuela, and Cucuta, in Colombia, for the first time in 11 months.

Where will Nigerians cross to? Any country that fails to plan in the time of bounty (wisdom of Joeseph in Egypt of old) will definitely end up like this Venezuela.
