Three Kano housewives arrested for dumping minor in well
Three housewives based in Kano have been arrested by the State Police Command after they conspired to dump a girl in an old well in the Gayawa village, located at Ungogo Local Government Area of the state.
According to DSP Magaji Majiya, the Kano State Police Command’s spokesman, who confirmed the arrest of the housewives, investigations into the matter was ongoing.
Majiya revealed that the girl who was dumped in the old well by her step mother in collaboration with two other suspects spent three days in it before she was rescued by men of the state fire service following an alarm raised by her father.
“We have arrested three women in connection with the case and they are now in our custody, assisting with investigation”, he said.
Continuing, Majiya said the suspects would have their day in court as soon as investigations into the matter were concluded while also informing that the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Rabiu Yusuf, had directed the transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department.
