Three men arrested, dragged to court for belonging to Eiye confraternity

Court remands 51-yr-old Polytechnic lecturer for rape, murder of 13-yr-old girl

The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned three men, Amechi Dukur, Totimi Johnson and Yusuf Ahmed before an Ogudu Magistrate court sitting in the state for allegedly belonging to Eiye confraternity, a secret cult group.

The prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, while addressing the court said the men, along with others still on the run conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace.

Ihiehie informed the court that the defendants used some dangerous weapons to threaten residents of Akala in Mushin area of Lagos State on March 1, at 2.00 p.m.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges while Magistrate, E. Kubeinje granted them bail in the sum of N50, 000 each, with one surety each in like sum.

The case was adjourned till April 24.
