Three wrestlers out in quarterfinals

Published

on

The country’s hope of winning medals at the ongoing Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil, continues to dwindle daily as three wrestlers failed to progress to the semifinal stage of their categories.
Mercy Genesis was the first one to crash out after she was beaten by Poland’s Nina Matkowska 4-0 in her Women’s Freestyle 48 kg quarterfinal.
It was another sad story in the Women’s Freestyle 58 kg quarterfinal as Aminat Adeniyi was sent packing by Finland’s Petra Olli, the bout ended 8-2 in favour of the Fins.
Hannah Rueben did not fare better in the 69kg category as she lost out 11-1 to Dorothy Yeats from Canada.
