Thugs attack Ondo SDP candidate’s convoy

Suspected hoodlums on Friday attacked the campaign convoy of a Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate for the House of Assembly election in Ondo State.

The candidate, Mr Ebenezer Adeniyan who is seeking to represent Akure South Constituency II was attacked during a campaign tour around Oke Area of the State capital.

According to an eyewitness, the suspected hoodlums were armed with dangerous weapons, including guns and machetes.

He narrated that they shot into one of the branded cars through the windscreen.

Adeniyan who expressed worries over the incident noted that the Police had been informed of the attack.

Confirming the indident, The Police Public Relations Officer of the state, Mr Femi Joseph, confirmed the incident, saying investigation had commenced into it.

“The Commissioner of Police has ordered a full investigation into the incident and the perpetrators would be brought to book,” Joseph said.
