Okorocha raises alarm over plans to arrest him after May 29, runs to court

The Election Petition Tribunal for the National Assembly will today (Sunday) rule on petitions challenging the emergence of former Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha, as Imo West senator.

Osita Izunaso of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Jones Onyeriri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had challenged Okorocha’s victory at the tribunal.

But the tribunal, which sat in the state capital Owerri, had after hearing from the petitioners and respondents decided to deliver its rulings in Abuja.

It was learnt that the tribunal had communicated to the concerned counsels of its intention to deliver the ruling in Abuja.

The tribunal, it was also learnt would decide petitions against the winner of the Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta, Oru West Federal Constituency, Uju Kingsley Chima of the Action Alliance (AA).
