Top stars to converge as Kanu buries mum Dec 3

Four serving Governors have confirmed their availability to attend the burial of Madam Sussan Kanu Iheme, the late mother of ex-Super Eagles striker, Nwankwo Kanu, billed for Saturday December 3, 2016 at her home town in Arochukwu, Abia State.

The late mum died on September 7, 2016, at the age of 82.

Coordinator of the Kanu Heart Foundation, Pastor Onyebuchi Abia, said the Deputy Senate President, Dr. Ike Ekweremada, is expected to lead other senators as well as top politicians to the ceremony.

According to the programme of event, the body of the late madam Kanu is expected to leave Aladinma Owerri at 9am on Friday December 2, for her home town, Arochucku, where a Service of songs will be held by 6pm while the funeral service will be held on Saturday at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Amannagwu, Arochukwu which will be followed by the interment at her resident.

“We are expecting all the South East governors but four have confirmed their availability. Also, serving senators, minsters and top politicians are being expect and that is why the Inspector General of Police has given approval for maximum security during and after ceremonies,” he said.

Abia added that: “There will also be a strong delegation of African football legend from South Africa, Kanu’s ex-Super Eagles teammates as well as the Nigeria Football Federation delegation to the event.
