Premier League side, Tottenham Hotspur now trail behind Netherlands side Ajax after losing at home in their Champions League semifinal first leg encounter.

Spurs, who reached the last four by defeating Manchester City in the quarter-finals, were beaten 1-0 by Ajax on Tuesday night.

The hosts were without star forwards, Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son, who are injured and suspended respectively.

Fernando Llorente and Toby Alderweireld both wasted good chances for the hosts by heading off target when unmarked.
