Tottenham's defeat leaves Chelsea two wins from EPL title

Despite their 1-0 defeat away to West Ham on Friday night, Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is yet to concede the English Premier League title to Chelsea.

He however admits that it will be “difficult” for his side after suffering a defeat that has kept them trailing four points to league leaders Chelsea.

Spurs pursuit of Chelsea was dealt a big blow as Manuel Lanzini’s fierce finish earned victory for their London rivals, whereas they could have narrowed the gap to a point with victory.

“It will be difficult. With three games to play. You have to try to give your best. Now we move forward,” Pochettino said after their defeat on Friday.

“It is not over. It is true that it will be difficult. Now we have to wait but thinking that it will be difficult to catch Chelsea.”

Leaders Chelsea now need two wins from their final four games to be crowned champions. That is, they will secure the title on Friday, 12 May if they beat both Middlesbrough and West Brom.

Chelsea play Middlesbrough on Sunday at Stamford Bridge.
