Police arrest 27-yr-old over kidnap, murder

A traditionalist, Dada Oluwafemi, has been arraigned before a grade 1 area court sitting in Nyanaya, Abuja for allegedly swindling his client of N635,000 after performing special prayer on the victim.

The Prosecutor, Fidelix Ogube, on Wednesday told the court that the defendant who resides at No 11, Ajalomi Street, Abraka, Delta State, committed the offence on July 24, 2017.

Ogube told the court that Oluwafemi who claimed to be a pastor spoke with Mmadu, and convinced him that he had a spiritual problem.

The prosecutor said the complainant withdrew N635,000 from the bank and gave it to the defendant to pray on it.

“While pretending to be reciting the special prayer, the defendant took off with the bag full of money,” he said.

After pleading guilty to the offence levelled against him, the judge, Mr. Abdullahi Ogedengbe, admitted Oluwafemi to bail in the sum of N50,000.

He adjourned the case until June 18 for hearing.
