An Abuja bound aircraft belonging to Medview Airline on Thursday made an air return some minutes after take-off from the Murtala Mohammed Airport II, Lagos.

An aviation source disclosed that the aircraft developed a pressurisation problem which affected the cooling system while flying at about 8,000 feet, adding that there was no panic as the pilot properly briefed the passengers and landed safely.

The airline was however said to have immediately provided another aircraft that took the passengers to Abuja.

Confirming the incidence, the Acting General Manager, Public Relations, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authorit,( NCAA) Mr. Sam Adurogboye, said the air return was a precautionary measure to prevent any untoward occurrence, adding that the pilot acted according to Standard and Recommended Practices.

He however cautioned against sensationalised reporting.
“The pilot must have observed something which necessitated the return. That is the normal precautionary action he is expected to take.

“Once such incidence occurs, it is mandatory for the airline to make a report to the NCAA,” he added.
