Tragedy in Saudi as 5 Nigerian pilgrims die

Tragedy struck in the Holy land of Saudi Arabia on Wednesday as five of the Nigerians pilgrims who had gone to the country for pilgrimage died.

The Head of Madinah Operations of National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Dr Bello Tambuwal, said in Madinah that four of the deceased died in Madinah while the one died in Macca.

He did not disclosed the cause of their death but maintained that NAHCON was not short of medical facilities for the pilgrims as it had two clinics in Madinah to take care of them.

He added that the clinics were well stocked with drugs, some of which taken along the journey from Nigeria.

46,770 Nigerian pilgrims had so far been transported to Saudi Arabia for this year pilgrimage.
